November 25: Last Safari Game Drive

We were up at 4:00 am for our last day of safari game drives.  We got rewarded almost immediately for the early wake up call when we saw a family of hyenas walking along the main road.  It was the first time that we had seen hyenas during our many game drives in Africa.  The rest of the AM drive was pretty quiet but we had a couple of awesome sightings during our mid-afternoon drive.  First, we had a really close encounter with an elephant who made a movement toward our vehicle before crossing in front of it.  I was able to catch the heart racing action on video as I quickly closed the car window. Next, we observed a small group of African buffaloes wading in the muddy waters of a small pond.  Lastly, we drove off road to get a real close look at a huge lioness who was resting comfortably in the shade under a tree.
