November 20: Burkes’ Backpackers Paradise
After an unsuccessful early morning safari at Hwange National Park, we set off toward the South Africa border with an eventual destination of Kruger National Park. After driving for about three hours, we arrived at Burkes’ Backpackers Paradise where we settled in for the evening. A brief rain shower brought some temporary relief but the humidity returned in the evening. Without air conditioning, we slept with the door and window open using a mosquito net to protect us from the flying pests.
