October 8: Hermanus
We made one last attempt to see whales at Sievers Point in Hermanus. The whales were definitely closer but still hard to get a sense of their massive size. From here, we drove approximately an hour to Neethlingshof winery for a lovely wine tasting and brick oven pizza. We sampled wines from their Short Story Collection, which included 2 whites, 2 reds and 1 sweet after dinner one. The wine tasting for four along with 4 pizzas was a little over $50.
After a quick stop at a Chinese market, we drove a little over 2.5 hours toward Namibia eventually stopping at Rondeberg Resort where we camped for the evening. The wifi was strong enough for me to watch the Patriots, which was an absolute blowout. Ashley took advantage of the excellent facilities and made kimchi with Soowon and his wife.
