October 30: Namutoni

We exited Etosha National Park after our  three day visit, which included many stops at water holes and plenty of self-guided safari tours.  We ended up seeing 4 of the big 5 with many close up views of elephants and rhinos.  Although we observed leopards and lions, it was from a pretty good distance and pictures don’t give definitive evidence.

We spent today visiting three more water holes with the first two (Goas & Chudob) giving tremendous rewards with lots of thirsty animals including blue wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, springboks, black & white rhinos, spotted hyena, red hartebeests, kudus, black faced impalas, ostriches, and African elephants.  We concluded our visit with a quick lunch at the Namutoni Campsite before exiting the park and beginning our initial journey to Botswana.

After a couple hour drive toward our next destination (Botswana), we arrived at a really cool place to rest our heads, Roy's Campsite. The decor was incredibly done with lots of antiques and skulls of dead animals.
