October 20: Spitzkoppe

We made the three hour journey to Spitzkoppe Camp, which was just outside the famous tourist attraction.  The Spitzkoppe is a group of granite peaks located in the Namib desert. And,  according to Wikipedia,  “The granite is more than 120 million years old and the highest outcrop rises about 1728 meters above sea level.”  We spent most of the afternoon out of the scorching sun while relaxing in the lobby and sharing travel stories with a couple from Germany.
