August 25: Roadside Hot Spring

It was another day of mostly driving as we tacked on another 6+ hours of driving with only one stop at a fantastic hot spring.  The drive along the west fjord was spectacular as we hugged the coast for the entirety of the journey.  The hot spring location was also right by the deep blue waters and made for an amazing view as we soaked in the geothermally warm waters.  

The last half hour of our drive to Melanes Campsite was probably the most amazing part of our journey. As we descended from a red clay road, we witnessed a breathtaking beach that reminded us of Balos Beach and Lagoon on the island of Crete.
