July 10: Back to Milan
After sleeping on a side street by the port of Genoa, we drove to New Park Milano campsite where we stayed in February. After getting settled in camp, we ventured out on probably one of the hottest days that we could remember since we started traveling over two years ago. It rivaled some of the heat from last summer in Cinque Terre and our couple of weeks in Thailand.
We once again took the train into downtown Milano right by the Duomo. The sight of the cathedral as we walked out of the subway was spectacular. I guess the second time is just as good as the first in this instance.
The rest of the day we window shopped and ate Italian food. The first restaurant that we went to was absolutely overpriced but the greek salad and eggplant parmesan was really tasty. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same thing for the linguine and clams, which had little to no taste – where’s the garlic and hot pepper? Next, we went to Via Torino on a tip from a handsome salesman at a TIM store. The pizza was also meza mesa – not crispy enough for my liking.
