June 28: 60 Laps Around the Sun

We had a terrific day celebrating my 60th lap around the Sun.  We started the day by renting a kayak for 2 hours to explore the lagoon here in Oualidia.  We stopped briefly at a remote island to relax and soak in the lovely 360 degree views.

Next, we stopped and ate some fresh oysters and clams at the shore before eating a huge lunch at 2 Amis.  The food was extremely well prepared with the “chefs” salad and grilled seafood platter stealing the show.

The day just got better as we were greeted by MoJo, Honza and Eva back at the campsite.  We had a delicious meal and played Uno. Jo made the most delicious watermelon salad with mint and feta chess --to die for. But, the highlight for me was the cool hat they gave me while singing happy birthday.  The only thing that could have made it better would be to have Alex, Haein, my mom, sister and some friends here too. It will certainly be a bday I won’t soon forget.
