June 27: Oualidia
We were up at 5:30 am to catch the morning sunrise. We walked down to the beach to check out the lagoon. Since it was still closer to low tide, we were able to navigate to the sandbar that separates the lagoon from the ocean. It was an awesome spot to take pictures of a lovely sunrise. We also met a few fishermen who were preparing their boats for the day. Next, we went to another area where men harvest oysters and enjoyed a few salty fresh ones for breakfast.
Once we returned to the campsite, I went to the pool and completed 50 laps in 30 minutes. It was the first time that I’ve swam that many laps in a long time. It felt great to do an intense cardio exercise.
