June 19: Happy Juneteenth

Happy Juneteenth!  “Freedom Day” commemorates the abolition of slavery in the USA on June 19, 1965.  Let’s celebrate freedom while also continuing to address inequities that still exist in our proud nation.

Morocco continues to amaze us with magical places and friendly people.  After leaving Timlalin Dunes, we drove about two hours to Camping Soleil in Sidi Kaouki.  This spot is a favorite for surfers as we met quite a few laid back travelers.  One older guy from Germany reminded me of a hippie from the USA.

I took advantage of the campsite immediately by finding the toilet and a well needed shower.  After a late breakfast, MoJo arrived and we ended up having lunch with them.

Ashley and I walked to the beach where we explored some restaurant menus and surfing lesson options.  We also caught another outstanding sunset before getting back to camp.
