May 30-31: Back to Morocco

We boarded our plane for Zurich at about 5:00 pm EST.  It was quite the month as we moved my mom into an assisted living facility, cleaned out her apartment and rented it to a nice young couple beginning on June 1.

My mom’s move was necessary but still difficult as she struggled with leaving her home of 60 years.  She appears to be adjusting as she is eating more, taking her meds regularly and engaging in more frequent social interactions and activities.  A huge thank you to Danny who arranged for two professional movers to bring mom’s furniture to her new “home.”

As far as the cleanup of my mom’s apartment, Ashley did an amazing job organizing, trashing and cleaning.  I helped with these tasks along with adjusting homeowners/auto insurance policies; canceling cable, internet & phone; installing key lock boxes; and adding a door lock on cedar closet.

Besides spending lots of time with mom to ease her transition, we did a pretty good job catching up with family and friends.  Alex and I went to the first game of the Celtics - Sixers series and we also had a great day playing golf in Nahant. Ashley and I also played golf a couple of times — once with Frank & Karen and another time with Carolyn and Kent, the awesome couple that we met in Spain who reside in New Hampshire. We had a couple of sleepovers at Rob and Elsa’s place too.

After 27 hours including two flights and a three-hour taxi ride, we finally arrived at Agadir where we crashed at the 2 star Residence Hoteliere Fleurie.
