March 3: Madrid

It was another long day of driving — this time it was over 5 hours until we reached downtown Madrid.  We experienced snow in the mountains and then beautiful warm sunshine when we reached our final destination.

The journey was made a bit more difficult because both of our SIM cards have expired.  At one point, we had to return to a cafe so we could connect to their WiFi when we decided to change course. 

The highlight of the day was meeting a group of five high school boys while in Madrid.  They were so interested in our journey around the world in our van.  They asked really thoughtful questions and also took pictures of the van.  It made me miss my time as an educator.
