March 27: Flamenco Dancing

After a relaxing morning at our campsite, we headed back into Seville to see an authentic Flamenco show. In a small theater, we were really close to the performers who danced on a slightly raised wooden floor that acted as a percussion instrument during the rhythmic dancing. A male and female dancer performed individually and together with accompaniment from two singers and guitarist.  It was clear that the stars of the show were the two dancers. Both of them brought the house down with their rapid cadence stomping that most closely resembled an Irish step dance. The woman added extra dramatic flair with her scarf twirls and dress swirls.  The man’s spinning moves would have made Michael Jackson proud.

We couldn’t get into the Cathedral again today so we bought tickets for a 2:00 pm tour tomorrow.
