March 1: Tollapalooza
It was another day of driving as we crossed France on our way to Spain. Today was also an expensive one as we bought groceries, gas and paid over $60 in tolls for the second day in a row. The total bill for the day was $261.36 — yikes! A couple of observations while driving through France -- one, the highways are amazing, but the tolls are outrageous; and two, you know that you are in the wine country as we passed by miles of beautiful vineyards.
We eventually made it to a great campsite in Spain where I made Pasta e Fagioli — this one was definitely better than the first attempt. This time I used a green pepper instead of celery and added the chicken stock at the right time. It was delicious! We also did a couple of loads of laundry — not an instant too soon as I was down to my last pair of underwear again.
