September 1-2: Seven Sisters Cliff

 Thursday, September 1

We decided to leave Tholen this morning and head to the UK to save some days so that we can stay in the Schengen region when the boxes finally arrive.

We did laundry before we left and then headed to Calais where we are scheduled to take the 7:00 am ferry tomorrow morning.  The ride took about three hours.  When we arrived, we hopped a free shuttle into town and had a quick dinner — the food was pretty good. We had steak and lamb — the lamb was in an amazing mushroom sauce — delicious!!

We had a restless night sleep with lots of noise parked next to the busy port.

It was an early morning with a 4:30 am wake up.  Unfortunately, we still missed the 7:00 am but caught the 8:25 am one.  Ashley’s card was rejected so the tickets that we thought we purchased — were, in fact, denied.  We eventually got new tickets and had a relaxing two hour journey — we shared a comfy couch and chilled.

When we arrived in the UK, we drove directly to Seven Sisters Cliff for an incredibly exhilarating hike.  I was thrilled to be back out exploring and took so many pics and videos to capture the spectacular views.  It was a sheer drop off the cliff — scary but exhilarating at the same time.

After a tasty pasta dinner at the van, we drove to a cool campsite for a well-deserved quiet sleep.
