October 16: Koman

After a tasty breakfast of croissants and fig jam, we headed out on the 10:00 am minibus to the Koman Ferry port in Fierze.  During our travels, we stopped by an ATM and withdrew 20000 Lek or $180 USD.  We put 13500 Lek in a sealed plastic bag and instructed our driver to give it to the owner of the hotel that we stayed at last night.  We also gave the driver 500 Lek for his troubles. We met a really nice couple from Germany who have been traveling quite a bit during their 7 year relationship.  We shared stories of some of our favorite places in the US and Europe.

The 2 hour ferry ride was beautiful with many spectacular views of the canyon that you could only see from the lake/river.  I had a beer and some chicken on the gentle cruise along the green colored waterways.

The last leg of our journey took us from Koman to Shkoder. The cost of this ticket like the one from Valbona to Fierze was 800 Lek or 7 euros each.   We arrived in Shkoder at about 5:15 pm and found a beautiful hotel for 70 euros.  The Hotel Colosseo and Spa was top notch.
