February 26: La Famiglia

In Italian culture, Sundays are strictly reserved for la famiglia.  In that spirit, we enjoyed many laughs and lively banter with my cousin Giuseppe and his lovely wife Lara while devouring Neapolitan pizza.  They took us to an awesome restaurant where we enjoyed pizza, wine, tiramisu, and meloncello. It was so fun catching up as they shared a bit of their wonderful life together and we told many stories about our incredible adventures in Italy. Guiseppe was so kind with his thoughtful comments about the memories he has of our family. As we were leaving the restaurant, they gave us a tasty gift of soft Amaretti cookies. Our only regret was that we didn’t have more time to spend with them.
