February 21: Rifugio Lagazuoi

It was a relatively slow start to the day as we drove to Rifugio Lagazuoi.  While waiting in the van, we decided to book a room at the tiny hut atop the mountain.  The price was a bit steep for our budget 225 euro for the accommodations and breakfast plus parking (25 euro) and the cable car ride (60 euro for the round trip).  But, the view from the room overlooking the mountain range was worth it.

The day continued to get better as we enjoyed a Charcuterie board with delicious Italian cured meats and various cheeses accompanied with a bottle of Chianti.  The sunset that followed was absolutely incredible as we took so many amazing photos including ones with the crescent moon and North Star.
