February 2: Capri

We had an incredible day in Capri as we caught the 7:15 ferry from Sorrento with mostly construction workers heading to their jobs.  Once we arrived, we hopped on a bus to Anacapri and hiked to the top of Mount Solaro.  We had an excellent view of iFaraglione in the distance and made a point that we needed a closer look. The Faraglioni are three large rock formations that have been sculpted magnificently and naturally by the sea, wind and weather.

Next, we caught a bus to Capri Center and hiked to Arco Naturale, which rivals the famous Delicate Arch in Utah.  We took this opportunity to eat a light snack as we soaked in the amazing creation.  After a few photos, we continued walking to Tragara as we soaked in the turquoise waters and rugged coastline.  We were rewarded for our efforts with a scenic overlook of the Faraglioni rock formations— I told you we’d get a closer look.

Finally, we enjoyed a delicious late lunch at the Hangout as we shared a perfectly cooked steak and a white lasagna with mushrooms and ham.  Exhausted and full, we walked down to the port to catch the 4:35 pm ferry back to Sorrento.
