February 1: Sorrento

We took full advantage of the amenities at Camping Beata Solitudo as we cooked and showered before driving to Sorrento. As has become commonplace in Italy, the views along the coastline were breathtaking.  

After finding a parking spot just outside of Sorrento (not an easy task), we ventured into the city for a late lunch.  On the bus trip into the center, we asked the bus driver for a restaurant recommendation and he came through big time with La Locanda del Gusto. We split the  Sorrentine gnocchi and chicken piccata before capping it off with a tiramisu.  Sorrentine gnocchi is a specialty of the Campania region, particularly of Sorrento, from which it takes its name.  The food and homey atmosphere were outstanding!
