January 3: Pray for Damar

We returned to the Crown Park Hotel in Seoul to begin preparations for our trip to Albania on Thursday.  We did take the time to go back to Myeongdong Kyoja, the wildly popular restaurant for kalguksu (beef noodle soup), and kimchi.  Although I’m not a huge cabbage kimchi fan, this one blows me away — it has a smokey flavor that blends perfectly with the beef noodle soup.  I was once again in food Heaven.  

While watching the Bills and Bengals play on MNF, I, along with millions of Americans, were horrified to see Damar Hamlin collapse on the field.  It was a somber reminder of the dangers of playing in the NFL.  These warriors of the most popular American sport risk their health and well being to entertain us — prayers and thoughts to Damar, and his family.
