January 26: Last Day in Crete

We spent our last day in Crete doing a few errands (car wash & laundry) and exploring the city of Heraklion.  In between errands and exploring, we had a tasty lunch of carbonara and meat patties.  The place made us feel like we were home as it played American pop music.

When we went back to the camper van, we met a cute couple from Germany who are also on an extended holiday. We exchanged adventure stories and learned the wife studies at Brandeis for a year — amazing!

It was a great idea to get a cabin for our ferry trip to Athens.  We took full advantage as we both finally showered after missing a few days. We’re looking forward to a restful sleep this evening on this overnight trip.
