January 22: Chania

It has been an absolutely perfect day.  After our morning workouts, we drove one hour to Chania.  Once we arrived, we spent most of our time in the old town.  As we walked by several restaurants and cafes that surrounded the harbor, we were struck by the similarities to Venice.  After our tour of the city, we bought a bottle of local wine and enjoyed it while dangling our feet tantalizingly close to the crystal clear waters below us.

Upon a recommendation from the owner of the wine shop, we went to Throumbi for souvlaki, eggplant dip and tzatziki.  The eggplant and tzatziki stole the show as we were both disappointed that they didn’t have grilled lamb ribs or chops as an option.
