January 21: Crete

We were one of the first in line for our 5:55 am ferry but definitely the last vehicle to drive onto it. Ashley boarded early to find us a good seat.  By the time I found her, she had met a lovely Korean family. She spent a few hours chatting with them while I took a 2 hour nap.  

We arrived at Heraklion Port at about 3:00 pm and drove one hour to Elizabeth’s Campsite. The drive along the coast was beautiful and we immediately noticed the turquoise waters that surrounded the island.  When we arrived and didn’t see anyone around, we decided to camp at Rethymnon Marina.
