December 8: Diamond Cliff Resort & Spa

 We made the move from the 3-star Aim Patong Hotel to the 5-star Diamond Cliff Resort & Spa.  What are some of the biggest differences?  I would say one major difference is the view – we have an awesome view of the Indian Ocean from our room at the Diamond Cliff and an alley view from the room at  Aim Patong.  The other major upgrades include the size of the room with sofa and desk; comfort of the bed,  bedding & towels;  a jacuzzi tub in addition to walk-in shower; two beautiful pools; a well-equipped fitness center; a spa; and two restaurants.  

You must be asking, “What is the cost associated with this additional luxury?”   Well, we paid $31.47/night at the Aim Patong just for the accommodations and $720 for 7 nights ($102.85/night) at the Diamond Cliff, which included breakfast and dinner.  At the end of the 7 days & nights, we’ll let you know if it was worth the price differential.
