December 30: A Look Back at 2022

It was a quiet, relaxing day in Daegu as we ate, took a short walk and went shopping.  During our short walk, we saw and heard the power of a F-35 stealth fighter.  We were blown away by the speed of this highly sophisticated flying machine and the skill of its pilots from the Air Force Base in Daegu.

I also began to reflect on the past twelve months.  During the last 365 days, we have visited Egypt, Sri Lanka, Philippines, South Korea, Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, England, Wales, Scotland, Italy, Vatican City, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and Thailand. I know that Wales and Scotland aren't considered countries but I'm counting them along with Vatican City. That’s 18 countries in one year— not bad.

In 2022, we were fortunate enough to visit 18 countries in Europe and Asia. We truly appreciate this incredible opportunity to immerse ourselves in the cultures of these amazing countries while laughing with and learning from its warm and friendly citizens. We were absolutely blown away by the enormity and beauty of our planet along with the kind individuals who welcomed us to their cities, towns, and villages. Finally, it was a lovely reminder that although our differences should be respected, the many similarities that bind us together should be celebrated and uplifted to support a more inclusive world.  Happy New Year!
