December 29: Temple Stay

 As part of our temple stay, I was given a comprehensive 1.5 hour tour of this spiritual place.  Among many other things, I learned that the Tongdosa Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in Korea.  The English guide was beaming with pride throughout the tour as he enjoyed telling the story of the temple as well as the Buddhist paintings in the museum.

From here, we drove to Daeku to visit with a friend of Ashley’s and her husband.  As you might suspect, the spread for dinner was extensive with at least 8 side dishes to go along with the main course of beef, pork and duck that we cooked on a table top stove.
