December 20: Namdaemun Market
It’s becoming apparent that this trip to Korea is one dedicated to trying as many of this country’s wonderful food dishes as is humanly possible. Today, we started with Bonjuk. The healthy rice porridge is an awesome example of Korean comfort food that is enjoyed for breakfast. Since we ate healthy in the morning, we enjoyed some fried Korean street food in the afternoon. I devoured some Hodduk (Korean Sweet Pancakes), which were equally greasy and sinfully delicious at the same time. We enjoyed brown sugar and vegetable/mozzarella varieties of these tasty treats.
We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring Namdaemun Market, which is the largest traditional market in Korean according to Google. The market has everything you need from clothing to electronics to food -- all at affordable prices.
