November 28: Ephesus

Another fun and busy day.  We had a great workout in the absolutely incredible gym at the hotel followed by a scrumptious breakfast with delicious coffee, omelet, sweet grapefruit and real honey right off the honeycomb.

Next, we went to the ancient city of Ephesus and took a leisurely walk around the well preserved ruins.  “Ephesus is an ancient city in Turkey’s Central Aegean region, near the coastal city of Kusadasi. Its excavated remains reflect centuries of history, from classical Greece to the Roman Empire. Paved streets wind past squares, baths and monumental ruins.”  The highlight for me was the library, which garnered many visitors and a ton of pics.

We sprinted back to the hotel and walked into downtown Kusadasi. The road was littered with restaurants, bars and cafes as many tourists and locals enjoyed a gingerly stroll along the Mediterranean on a gorgeous springlike day.

Accommodations: A++++++ (Charisma Deluxe Hotel)

Ok besides the most incredible view of the Mediterranean and hearing the waves crash beneath us, the breakfast was excellent but it’s currently in third behind Doga and Venus.  However, the workout area was in a class by itself.  It was like the YMCA in Shrewsbury— incredible equipment along with the same amazing views

Food: A- (Charisma Hotel & Seafood Restaurant)

Like I said above,  breakfast was excellent but lacked the extensive variety of Doga and Venus.  We ate dinner at the Charisma Seafood Restaurant and enjoyed a perfectly prepared sea bass —super tasty.
