November 27: Sirince
We took our time leaving the amazing Doga Thermal Health & Spa. We worked out at 8:00 and made it to breakfast by 9:00. The breakfast like the rest of our visit was extraordinary. We enjoyed the best omelet, coffee and olives of the trip. The selection of food was outstanding with lots of fresh fruits and nuts to go along with salad stuff and other breakfast fare. After I stuffed my face (Kimchi opted for two to-go boxes), we went back out to the outdoor thermal pool to unwind a little more. It was a great way to celebrate the completion of our 10 day trek.
Next, we drove about 2.5 hours to the town of Sirince, which is well known for its many wineries. The roads of this town were super narrow and I had a slight run in with a fence when pulling into the parking lot. Once I got over the frustration of this error, we had fun walking around the small town that was littered with restaurants and wine shops that all provided free tastings. We took full advantage of the free tastings and even bought three bottles for less than $15 total.
Food: A
After our brief stop in Sirince, we enjoyed an early dinner at a Korean restaurant that received two thumbs up from Kimchi — I also enjoyed the spicy kimchi side dishes and kimchi soup.
Accommodations: A++++++ (Charisma Deluxe Hotel)
The most incredible hotel room view that I’ve ever had the pleasure to lay my eyes on. The Mediterranean Sea was literally crashing directly below our 8th floor room
