November 24: Kas to Marmaris
After a delicious breakfast at Hideaway Hotel, we made the scenic journey from Kas to Marmaris. We had a brief but glorious stop at a beach in Kas in which you descended several flights to reach the absolutely gorgeous destination. The beach was definitely worth the effort — an excellent return on the investment. The beach was surrounded by steep cliffs and had wonderful views of mountainous islands.
After arriving at our hotel, we spent the afternoon walking along the Marmaris Beach boardwalk. There were a ton of restaurants, bars, private yachts, and commercial tour boats. The coastline was absolutely spectacular— really beautiful location
Accommodations: D (Reis Maris)
What’s the old adage? You get what you pay for — we stayed at a hotel that cost $18/night and got what you’d expect. A pretty old hotel in need of a major upgrade. No water or coffee was found in this room. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a view of the beautiful beach in Marmaris.
Food: B (Nil Balik)
After another amazing breakfast at Hideaway Hotel, we had an early dinner at Nil Balik in Marmaris. Although lentil soup and lamb chops were top notch, the seafood casserole and curry chicken were only average.
