December 7: Prepping for 8-day Adventure

I got up super early to watch the Pats game — buying the NFL ticket was brilliant! After a 45 minute workout, I went to breakfast and pigged out on an Indian inspired breakfast — fried eggs with yellow curry.  I also had potatoes and hummus.  I ate way too much and tasted it the rest of the day.

Finalized our 8-day trek itinerary today and did laundry in preparation for the excursion.  We have hiking, mountain climbing, camel riding, swimming in Wadis, and camping in the desert on the agenda.

We moved into a new hotel that has a pool on the roof and a gym.  I can’t wait to workout tomorrow morning.

We stopped by and took a few pictures of the privately built Mohammed Al Ameen Mosque.  Can’t imagine the price tag of this monstrosity— it was impressive in size and aesthetic beauty

Accommodations: A++++ (Royal Crown Hotel)

It’s nice living in the lap of luxury for under $50 per night. The Royal Crown has a rooftop pool and gym.  The room is huge with complimentary water and coffee. The bed is wicked comfortable and huge. Should sleep like a baby tonight.

Food: B+ (Supermarket)

Bought a bunch of prepared Indian food at the supermarket— chicken masala, okra bhindi masala, a grilled fish, and whole chicken
