December 5: Muscat
Exhausting day — our flight from Istanbul landed at Muscat International airport in Oman at 3:00 am. Unfortunately, we couldn’t pick up our rental car until 7:00 am. We used the time to get a SIM card — yea, this one worked in my iPhone!! I had a coffee at Cafe Nero that was just ok.
After picking up our rental car, we drove directly to our hotel — the Muscat Plaza Hotel. We crashed for a few hours and then headed out for lunch, quick sightseeing and grocery shopping. Early to bed as we prepare for a busy day tomorrow
Accommodations: A+++ (Muscat Plaza Hotel)
One of the most spacious rooms that we’ve had the pleasure of staying in. The bed is huge and extremely comfortable. The bathroom is definitely as big as some rooms that we’ve stayed in since our journey began last month. The internet was a little slow for our liking.
Food: A (Amazing Chicken)
As the name implies, this Korean restaurant serves amazing fried chicken. I devoured several spicy pieces. We also ordered the kimchi soup and bipimbap. This one passed the Kimchi test but we quickly realized that we are not in Turkey anymore. This modest amount of food cost us a very USA amount of $37.
