October 5: Ston
We woke up early at our free overnight spot— I didn’t sleep that great. I had a cup of coffee and headed to a freshly cleaned toilet. On our way to Ston, we stopped at an oyster farm and bought mussels. Ashley thought the .75 oysters were too expensive, so we passed on them. We made one more stop at a rest area and I completed a lower body/core workout. We also ate breakfast.
When we got to Ston, we climbed along the wall of the fortress and took a few pictures. The place was quite beautiful. Instead of going to lunch, Ashley made the mussels and I bought 9 oysters for $2.00/each.
We then headed to Dubrovnik, which provided another picturesque route along the sea. We stopped by one campsite but Ashley thought it was too expensive. But, before leaving, we showered and did the dishes.
We spent an hour driving around looking for free parking without success. It was a bit frustrating but we eventually ended up at another campsite about 25 minutes out of Dubrovnik.
