October 21-24: Tirana

 Friday, October  21

After a light breakfast, I went down the beach to read for a couple of hours.

In the afternoon, Ashley made Korean curry with some vegetables that I bought at a local market.  As usual, the food was delicious.  Although I had intended to go see the daughter of the couple from Sweden in the weight lifting competition, I couldn’t motivate myself to go.  We instead drank Prosecco, honey wine and Vermouth with the couple from Oregon.  We provided the Prosecco and we helped them finish the honey wine and vermouth.

Ashley and I completed a 2-mile run on the beach, which I followed up with a lower body workout.  After breakfast, I went down to the beach to read for a couple of hours.

Ashley and I joined our new friends from Oregon for lunch at a restaurant on the top of the hill.  The view was wonderful – the food was not so great.  We ended up getting a pizza and dessert on the beach because we were still pretty hungry.

After lunch, we hung out and chatted before retiring to bed early.

Sunday, October 23

We finally left Scoturk and headed toward Tirana to our next resting spot.  We stopped at a mall for some KFC and window shopping.

Once we arrived at Julton Hotel Park, we were immediately impressed with the location and security.  We decided that we would keep the van here during our two month sabbatical from van life.

We took the bus downtown and ended up walking through a small market before eating a delicious meal at a cool outdoor restaurant. The grilled lamb and salad was delicious.

Monday, October 24

We spent the entire day at Julton Hotel Park preparing for our trip tomorrow. We packed and organized the van for our two month pause on van travel.
