September 8: Hay-on-Way

After a quick coffee, we were on the road for a visit to Hay-on-Way, which is a town made famous by Richard Booth’s love of books.

Fortunately, Thursday there was an open market so we took full advantage by buying plenty of food — veggies, bread, sweets and lamb!  We also made it to Richard Booth’s bookshop, which was amazing — a ton of wonderful books and incredible atmosphere from the comfy chairs to the creaky floors.  Every step you took told a story.

We continued on to Burford, which appeared to be a really affluent town with some beautiful houses.
