September 28: Leaving Cres

It was a travel day as we left our beautiful campsite in Cres and headed toward Plitvice Lakes National Park. We drove approximately 20 minutes and caught the 10:00 am ferry.  The 30-minute trip was pretty uneventful.

After getting off the ferry, it was a 2.5 hour ride to the National Park.  We decided to go to a restaurant for lunch — this place was supposedly known for its fresh trout.  The food was ok — the highlight for me was getting there -- we waited in a small town traffic jam for 20 minutes for a Croatian Bike Race.  I wish I was able to grab a video of all the riders — super cool and colorful.

About 5 minutes out of the park, we parked for the night in a pretty deserted and desolate town.
