August 17-20: Roosendaal

 Wednesday, August 17

We finally got some rain and took advantage of the cool weather as we hit the outlets in Roosendaal.  Ashley bought a ton of stuff for our rolling kitchen — pots and silverware.  I bought three pairs of Bjorn Borg underwear.

We ate smoked mackerel and eel in the van — Ashley made some tasty coleslaw and I bought some delicious French fries!

Another day of waiting with no boxes in sight.  We had to go back to the outlets to return my Bjorn Borg underwear — wicked comfortable but too small.  Next, we went to try to get Ashley a SIM card but ended up just topping up her A1 card.

After a quick stop at the grocery, we went back to the beach area and had dinner.  Ashley made some incredibly tasty mussels and I added spaghetti after the mussels were gone.  It was frankly the best pasta I’ve had on the trip — outstanding!!

We received more bad news about our boxes — they won’t arrive until next Tuesday and then still have to get through customs.  So it looks like we may have the boxes by August 26 — ugh.  We may just want to head to Italy and then to Croatia.  Unfortunately, we will only have about two weeks in Italy before having to move to a non-Schengen region.

I began to work on my "Mona Lisa" presentation— it was an extremely slow process.  Also, I repackaged my surfing video which received over 800 views — it is really close to overcoming the Storr’s video as the most watched behind only the Korean Delicacy one.

Saturday, August 20

We went to the gym to workout in the morning and then Ashley made a pretty tasty eggplant parmigiana.  I videotaped her cooking and posted it on Instagram and Facebook— the one on Instagram got over 4000 views. I also worked on "Mona Lisa" and started to plan a video on shipping our van to Belgium.
