July 7: Mamma Mia!

It was an awesome day today. After an ok breakfast, it was off to Buckingham Palace where we watched the changing of the guard.  We weren’t alone as the crowd swelled by 11:00 am.  It was well planned by Ashley to get us there by 10:00.  It was a lot of pomp and circumstance but still fun with the large group.

From here, it was off to Westminster Abbey where we saw Big Ben and the London Eye.  We thought about boarding the huge Ferris wheel but decided to save 72 pounds and use it for our next event— Mama Mia!  We walked to the box office and bought two tickets in their own box for 80 pounds.  The show was absolutely incredible – singing ABBA songs all the way home.

After a tasty lunch at an Italian restaurant, we went to the play which was so much fun.  In fact, it was the most fun I’ve ever had at the theatre.  While asking directions at a coffee shop, I ordered a decadent chocolate cake that was out of this world.  One of the most incredible desserts that I’ve ever had — quite a day but it wasn’t over.  Next stop was Camden Lock, a great spot for young people of all kinds as we saw more tattoos and different colored hair.  We also walked through a funky food court with all types and food & drink.  This tour was brutal as we were done eating and drinking for the day.
