June 8: Seceda & Alpe di Suisi

It was a wicked busy day as we visited Seceda and Alpe di Suisi. We left the apartment before 8:00 am and easily made the first lift at 8:30 am to Seceda.  We took two separate lifts — one was just the four of us and the second one carried about 30 people.  Once to the top, we enjoyed the breathtaking views that were a mix of jagged, rocky ledges and grass covered peaks..

We hiked to one of the grass covered ledges before having to turn around due to the steep rocky climb.  We did take some amazing pics as we all posed precariously on the edge of a rocky jagged ledge.  Next, we made our way to an incredible viewpoint where a guy took some amazing shots of all four of us.  Ashley and H spent time enjoying the abundant wild flowers.

Our next stop was Alpe di Suisi, which had three separate, large parking lots.  We ended up riding three separate lifts before doing the PU hike, which showed amazing views of both Seceda and Sasso Lungo.  We ate lunch after getting off the second lift by the Panorama Hotel.  The views of Sasso Lungo, in particular, were spectacular. Ashley and H, once again, took a ton of pics of the wildflower covered valleys.

We got back to the base around 5:00 pm and settled in for the four hour drive back home.  After two hours, we stopped at a McDonalds where A, H and I ate dinner.
