June 15: Cinque Terre

We had to move out of our awesome apartment in La Spezia, which was a 5 minute walk to the train station to an average one that was a 30 minute walk.  The shower that we took was ruined as we had to walk up a steep incline to our new apartment, which didn’t have AC.

Before going to the new apartment, we bought tickets for the 5 village tour of Cinque Terre (Riomaggiore, Manarola, Cariglia, Verrazano and Monterrosso).  There were a ton of people waiting in long lines when we arrived.

We headed out a little after 1:00 pm to Cinque Terre. We made stops at Riomaggiore, Manarola and Verrazano.  First stop in Cinque Terre was Riomaggiore where the colorful houses made for some excellent pictures of this coastal region. We watched people dive off cliffs in Manarola and hiked from Verrazano to Cariglia.  We also ate a snack at a cool restaurant in Riomaggiore called  A Piè de Mà.  The view was better than the food.
