June 10: Venice
Today was a travel day. I drove A to the airport and then we took the bus with H to the bus station. We stopped by the supermarket to buy snacks for the long ride.
The two hour train ride was super comfortable. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the longer bus ride. Speaking of the bus to Venice, we almost missed it. We got off the train and thought we were getting on another train — fortunately, we figured it out just in time and got onto a super crowded bus.
After the bus, it was onto a boat for a 40 minute ride through the Grand Canal to San Marco. The journey wasn’t done yet— we then embarked on an epic 30 minute walk with luggage and bags through the tiny streets of Venice. We passed over about 10 bridges, hundreds of restaurants & bars. We saw thousands of people eating and drinking delicious Italian cuisine.
