May 30: Halstatt

We drove about 2 hours to Hallstatt, which was a quaint village with amazing views of snow covered mountains and blue/green colored lake. We bought some food at a local grocery store and ate sandwiches by the lake.  H said Hallstatt had inspired Disney to model the village in Frozen after this picturesque spot.  She also mentioned that China made a duplicate of Hallstatt for its citizens to visit.  

Next, we made the 45 minute climb to the World Heritage Viewpoint.  After falling behind early, I never caught up to Ashley and H.  I was exhausted as we eventually made it to the top and took a ton of pics right before the rain arrived. H and I had a beer while Ashley talked to a couple from Korea who were part of a tour group visiting 5 different countries.
