May 28: Fortress Hohensalzburg
We relaxed and ate for most of the day. Ashley made a ton of Korean food before we finally headed out to the large medieval Fortress Hohensalzburg at an altitude of 506 m above the city. H acted as tour guide as we made our way through the ancient structure. The views from the top were incredible and provided a ton of opportunity for pics.
From here, we made it to the Augustiner Brewery Beer Garden to meet S and one of H’s co-workers. The beer garden is famous for the beer created by monks. We ate pork, sausage, sauerkraut and baked potatoes. The food and beer were delicious.
We were walking through the king’s garden where we took pics and then took a detour to a wine festival. We bought a couple bottles of wine and met some of S’s friends. We had a great time with lots of laughs. Ashley videotaped a guy who was wearing a bunny outfit with a hole in his butt -- it was quite the outfit.
