May 2: Fishing Trip

After a stop at Publix for an Italian sub, it was off to our fishing trip.  After a slow start, Ashley picked it up by catching about 5 yellowtail tuna and one large porky.  Our captain was awesome as she helped us bait the hook and take fish off it. She also told some great stories about Key West.  Besides catching a bunch of fish, we saw some awesome birds — namely the Frigate.  It was so beautiful with a huge wingspan.  When we got back, the captain filleted our fish and fed the huge tarpons that were swimming by the dock.

After a quick lunch (Ashley ate raw fish), we drove to our next adventure, which was supposed to be snorkeling and a sunset tour with a reggae and rum theme. Unfortunately, I screwed up and we missed our boat.  After an unsuccessful attempt to catch the boat before it left, we ended up on a 2 hour sunset cruise with drinks and apps included.  The boat had a great vibe with live music and all you could drink champagne, beer. and wine.  The sunset was absolutely beautiful -- not a bad back up plan.
