April 24: Duluth, Georgia
We were back on the road to Duluth, Georgia as we planned to go to a 11:30 am Korean mass. We arrived at about 11:15 and were treated by a spectacular broadway like show. The music was incredible as a team captured the event on video that was projected on two large screens at the altar.
Next, it was off to Jeju Sauna for a bit of relaxation. It was a funky place with a separate men’s and women’s locker room that had three hot tubs (hot, warm and cold), sauna, steam and showers.
Ashley and I hung out in the main area, which had several saunas including a salt one, restaurant and gym. The main area had heated floors where many people just hung out. We would eventually sleep on these same heated, tile floors.
After chilling for a bit, we worked out and then headed to our separate locker rooms for baths and showers. I started in the warm bath, proceeded to the cold bath, and then into the sauna. Then it was back to cold and finally warm before showering — oh yeh, everyone was naked, which initially shocked me but eventually became second nature.
We met for a quick dinner — beef dumpling soup and salad before hitting the hard floor for bed. I was exhausted and slept despite loud orders being called for by the restaurant and massage room (foot and body). I couldn’t believe how many people slept on the floor — Blacks, Whites, and Koreans side by side. Pretty cool
