March 31: 40 Days & 40 Nights in the Philippines
40 days and 40 nights in the Philippines — hardly any rain but a deluge of wonderful memories. It was a pretty relaxing day (for the most part) in the Philippines. I did an AA workout, had a delicious breakfast and then packed. Our checkout time was moved back to 2:00 pm at which time we hung out in the lobby and then got a stress reducing massage.
We left for the airport early, which was a good thing because I entered the wrong date for my birthday on my KETA visa. Ugh — stress level rose almost instantly as we tried to figure out an alternate plan at the same time applying for a new visa with the correct birthday. The three hours were filled with a roller coaster of emotions as we really wanted to take advantage of the free drinks and food in the business class lounge. I was unsure when I might get to Korea — Kimchi seemed set on going herself if she had the choice. Fortunately, at about 10:45 pm, the new visa was approved and we made it to the lounge by 11:00 pm. We drank and ate like fools for about an hour before boarding the plane. Although they served a meal, I barely touched my food and we both slept for most of the trip.
