March 2: Big Lagoon

Today was definitely one of the best days of our world tour!  We visited three beautiful spots and did some snorkeling. First, we made our way to Seven Commando Beach where many of us swam.  Kimchi stayed on board with the crew and had them take a few pics of her and I’m pretty sure she ate some chicken right off the grill bbq.  I swam in the crystal clear waters but got bitten by jellyfish, which shortened what would have been a long one.  This spot was beautiful because of the water but also the jungle backdrop.

Next, it was off to the Big Lagoon— which quite frankly may be the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to in my life. Spectacular!!! We had to kayak for an extra 300 pesos but this six dollars was well worth it! Besides breaking my left knuckle, this spot was today’s highlight. We kayaked through caves and I swam for a bit in the turquoise blue waters.

Still on a high from the Big Lagoon— we docked for an incredible lunch in which we ate like it was the last supper!  Kimchi had a funny exchange with a woman and the coconut man as she complained that her coconut was much smaller than a Filipina passenger.  The food was so tasty as we dined on chicken, fish, salad, eggplant and fruit!

Our third stop was Hidden Lagoon where we had to climb through a tiny hole to see a picturesque body of water surrounded by rocky cliffs — pics and videos definitely didn’t do it justice.

Finally, we stopped for some snorkeling.  It was ok but not as incredible as the rest of the trip.
