March 18: Mayon Volcano Adventure

It was an absolutely awesome day as we did the Mayon Volcano Adventure, which included driving an ATV, zip lining and hiking.  We got picked up at 6:00 am promptly and started our tour by 6:30 am.  The ATV riding was pretty cool as we maneuvered around turns and water hazards. There were lots of opportunities for pictures on the ATVs and also at the helicopter pad by the black lava.  From the helio pad, we took a short but fast zip line back to the base.  At the base, we drove the ATV back to our original starting point and then back to the hotel for breakfast.  

It was a quick turnaround as we got picked up at 9:30 am and headed out for a few more tourist spots in Legazpi— mostly places to take more pics of the volcano. After the quick tour, it was off to Donsol, which meant a 1 hour van ride and 30 minute tricycle trip.  The van ride was much more comfortable with plenty of cool AC even though we were with 8 other people.  While waiting for the van to leave, a few men offered me some free food, which was delicious.  Unfortunately, they tried to get me to overspend for a private ride, which ended badly.

The hotel (Danculan Beach Resort) is absolutely beautiful with great views of the ocean and close proximity to the whale shark tours.
