February 8: Weligama

We transitioned to Weligama after a bit of unsuccessful snorkeling in front of our hotel. We got two tuk tuks for 1000 rupees or about $5.  We got an awesome hotel right across the street from the beach—surrounded by restaurants and bars.  It is a surfing paradise!!

Mostly hung out in the room after I cooked pasta for lunch.  Kimchi slept for a couple of hours and then we walked along the beach talking to various fishermen. For dinner, we picked out a fresh red snapper and enjoyed a delicious meal on the beach.
